Help Us Build a Permanent Home for the Elderly: The Young Angels Rescue Centre Project
Across rural Kenya, many elderly men and women face an uncertain future—abandoned, homeless, and struggling to access basic needs. In Bungoma County, the situation is dire. Many elders live in unsafe makeshift shelters, go for days without food, and suffer loneliness after being left without family or caregivers.
At Young Angels Centre (YAC), we have offered temporary refuge to over 30 elderly individuals, providing food, medical care, and emotional support. However, our current facilities are limited. To ensure long-term stability and care, we are embarking on an ambitious project — The Young Angels Rescue Centre — a purpose-built sanctuary where elderly men and women can live with dignity, peace, and hope.
The Rescue Centre will be located in Lukhakha, Bungoma County, and designed to accommodate up to 100 elderly residents. It will provide:
Safe housing with accessible facilities
Nutritious meals prepared daily
Regular medical check-ups and emergency care
Spiritual guidance and counseling
Recreational and wellness activities
Sustainable water and solar systems
Land acquisition: Purchase a 3-acre plot for the Centre (target: 2026).
Infrastructure development: Construct dormitories, a dining hall, kitchen, chapel, and medical bay.
Capacity building: Train caregivers, social workers, and volunteers.
Community integration: Establish outreach programs to promote family-based elderly care.
We are seeking Ksh 15 million (USD 100,000) to support:
Land and documentation (Ksh 3M)
Construction and infrastructure (Ksh 9M)
Equipment, beds, and furnishings (Ksh 2M)
Legal and operational setup (Ksh 1M)
Financial contributions: Direct donations toward construction or operations.
Partnerships: Collaborate through CSR programs or grant funding.
In-kind support: Building materials, medical supplies, or food items.
Advocacy: Help us raise awareness about elderly welfare.
Together, we can make the Young Angels Rescue Centre a haven of dignity, compassion, and love for generations to come.
